So you are stuck at home! Alone! Quite a time this is.
Now we all know what’s going on around us. There’s havoc created by the Corona virus and people are scared and panicking. Alot of people have assorted to self quarantine so that they are safe from the infection.
Firstly for those who don’t know what is quarantine, it’s basically, in simple words, separating the infected person from everyone else so that the disease doesn’t spread. Quarantine is basically a big step and is done at hospitals with special isolation wards. Now self-quarantine is when someone on their own stop going outdoors and avoid coming in contact with other people.
Now with the process of self- quarantine, also comes loneliness and boredom, because in today’s world when pace is winning, suddenly there’s a stop to it, you don’t know what to do. So to cure that boredom and loneliness I have some ideas.
Spend time with your loved ones.
We all have adapted to the world’s pace. Getting up in the morning, stumbling to get ready, getting a coffee and running to work/college. In between all this rush sometimes we don’t get time to actually sit and talk with our family, our friends. Now that you’ve self-quarantined yourself, you have a full bucket of time to share your feelings, thoughts, love with your dear ones. Your pet misses you when you are work, hangout with them Play with them. I’m sure you won’t regret it.
Read a book
Reading a book really helps you calm your mind and body and it is also a very good timepass. Some people might not like reading books so you can read catalogs or magazines or maybe some blogs. Going back to a book you loved reading is the best feeling. Try it 🙂
Learn how to cook
Personally for me I like cooking but probably I’m a bad cook🤦🏻♀️ So this time is perfect for learning a new dish or experimenting a new recipe. If it turns out to be good you can always eat it and if it doesn’t it surely will be a good time killer.
Watch a movie/tv show
This one’s an easy one! You don’t really need any effort, just a laptop and good internet connection and boom you are sorted! You might have not gotten the time to watch the movies you missed but this is it! Why not utilise this time to watch all the movies and tv shows you were dying to watch?
Declutter your room
We all know how horrible our room looks now with all the clothes on the floor, chocolate wrappers on the bed and all the mess around. This is a great time to sort out what you need and what you don’t and just clean the mess around.
Play a video game/board game
Games have always been a great way to cure boredom and what better time to play them now!
Enact your favourite movie scene
For a girl like me who likes drama and acting this has to be my favourite activity! You can just let loose and act. It is actually very fun!
Workout
I know i know, this is the time to relax but why compromise on your fitness! Working out will help you relax your mind, pass time and also burn a few calories. Also it’s never too late to begin your fitness journey!
Treat yourself
We all know that it becomes difficult when coming to self care especially when you are busy working and running errands but now is the time! Take a bath, exfoliate your skin, put a face mask, and just breathe. I’m sure you won’t regret trying this out!
Relax
Just don’t do anything, relax. Get your mind off the negative things. Drink a coffee and again just breathe. It isn’t always important to do something when you have time, to always occupy yourself with things. Sometimes it’s okay to do nothing.
Stay safe! Prevent going outside and keep washing your hands at regular intervals!
