THE START IS DIFFICULT

Hello Everyone ! Its been so long….it genuinely feels like years I haven’t written anything. I literally have 10 drafts laying in my inbox but yet somehow I dont have the courage to publish them.

My whole purpose of starting a blog was to share stories, either of me or others’ so that everyone who reads it relates to it and  knows that the way they feel, out there, there is someone who feels the exact same way! I wrote about 12 different drafts of which 2 of them I’ve already scrapped and I feel like I’m going to scrap all of them. I’m having this majoooooorrrr writers block. Usually writers block is where the writer is not able to generate ideas about what to write. But here, in my case I have a lot of things to share and yet I always fall short of words.

So to, motivate myself I surfed the internet, read alot of articles written by young writers, read alot of poems, motivational quotes and still didn’t feel enough motivated.

So then, I saw this movie. Its a rom-com. I adore rom-coms. It’s called SET IT UP, but there’s this part, where the girl’s bestfriend tells her to write the shittest article of her life because thats the only point from where she’ll start writing.

So, however frustrated she was, how much ever “writers block” she had, she wrote the article. It was 3 lines but the feeling of accomplishment for her was so real.

It taught me one thing.

You have to start no matter what your brain says, or what people say or at whatever stage of life you are at, you have to start. Whatever it is, however bad it is or however bad it turns out to be you have to start. You have to push yourself to just start, regardless of the result because until and unless you don’t, you’d never know how good or bad it was.

The start might be little bumpy and hazy and sometimes unclear but it shouldn’t stop you from following your passion and allowing itself to bloom. Possibly when you take a step forward, you fail right at the start but that doesn’t end things. You have to keep going.

Trust me, that feeling of accomplishment, when you subside all your fears and take a step forward and believe in yourself, it is the best feeling.

So, now I’ve started and I hope someday you’ll too.

Love,

Sukhpreet✨
